Everything, loved, loved, loved this hotel! It was absolutely beautiful, perfect location, staff was friendly and accomodating. Hope to get an opportunity to stay here again

“Perfect choice” This hotel was definitely a good choice and was very reasonably priced. We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in July and had a great time. The hotel is recently renovated palazzo. Our room was big, with high ceiling and a huge window facing a beautiful courtyard (and a rooftop of San Marco!). The bed was good. Our kids were sleeping on sofa-chairs. Free breakfast at the hotel was very good and included good variety of the food, good cappuccino and freshly squeezed juice. Hotel's location was great! Just a couple of minutes from Accademia, about 5 minutes of walk to San Lorenzo and Medici palace and Duomo. Train station S.M.Novella is also near by (about 10 min).

“Excellent choice” The hotel is near the train station, also its in a great location to explore the city center at any time. My family and I where very pleased with the relationship price and quality. The hotel was clean, the breakfast was enough, and the people that assist us were extremely helpful and kind.

“Location,Location,Location” There are certain things a good hotel needs, great staff, elegant rooms, somewhere to escape from the city din and a place to rest your weary feet when you have walked the length and breadth of Florence and climbed too many towers in the heat of the day. However all these thing are only as good as the location of the hotel in relation to the main sites you have come to visit. The Hotel Orto De Medici excels at all the requirements, the rooms are modern, stylish and exceptionally clean, the sound proofing of the rooms means the city can whizz by outside with disturbing you and the corridors display art works in case you need more paintings to look at. Breakfast is served in the small 1st floor breakfast room and should be eaten on the terrace, whilst ensuring the birds don't steal your bread role. Best of all in the afternoon after a hot and hard walking day a small bar opens on the terrace, Prosecco, cheese and honey are a must whilst watching the Swifts dart around the nearby church. Tips for visiting, get the taxi from the airport; there is a fixed rate of 20 Euros for the trip (2013) plus one Euro per suitcase. Return to the airport walk to corner of the block turn left into Via degli Arazzieri 50 metres taxi rank in front of you 20 Euro rate applies. Staff are superb, small business so staff do many roles, very well and take a pride in their hotel. Finally Location, Location, Location, all major sites are easily accessible by walking, some great restaurants on the Via San Gallo, taxi rank on the doorstep makes arrival and departure easy. If you want a modern hotel, in a quieter part of town with easy access and great staff then this hotel will be my first choice in Florence. Reviewers consistently give this hotel a five star rating, it is well justified and is truly a gem of a hotel.

“Fantastic Hotel” We have just come back from staying at the hotel and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is situated in a good place to get about and close to the station SMN. The rooms were very big and comfortable and the air conditioning very good. We had a lovely view of the gardens and could not fault it at all. The staff were very friendly and helpful and even printed out our bus tickets for us. The breakfast was first class. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you To all who made our holiday a wonderful experience

“Why go anywhere else?” My wife, daughter and I stayed at the Hotel Orto De Medici for 4 nights at the end of June. We took 2 bedrooms in the main building and had a wonderful stay. It is in a good location to enable you to walk to all the main attractions in the city, and is only a 10 minute walk to the station. The bedrooms were furnished in a simple, but tasteful style, had lovely high ceilings, and were clean! Breakfast, which was included in the room rate, had a selection of salami meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, breads, pastries, juices and coffee, which were all topped up whenever necessary by efficient and helpful staff. Because we had good weather, we chose to take our breakfast on the terrace, which was a great way to start each day. Unfortunately, during our stay I had an issue crop up at work, but this was made so much easier to deal with by having the choice of 2 iMac computers and a printer at my disposal in the reception lounge area. Throughout our entire stay, the staff were all exceptionally friendly and couldn't do enough to help us enjoy our stay. We would definitely go back to the Hotel Orto De Medici, and have already recommended it to some friends who are thinking of going to Florence later in the year!

“A dir poco perfetto!”

“Excelente” Hotel excelente.

“A Gem in Florence” I picked this hotel because we wanted a private balcony with a view, our own bathroom, breakfast included with the rate, and far away from the tourist noise by the Il Duomo but still close enough to be within walking distance to everything. At the Hotel Orto de Medici we got all that we wanted! First off, even if you don't stay at this hotel be sure to download and pay for the full version of the app mTrip Florence City Guide (they have one for Rome too) to use on your phone. This app was better than any city or hotel map that you get. The app is used offline so you do not have to worry about data usage and it acts as a GPS and shows your exact location and the little arrow even points you in the right direction if you cannot find your way. Plus it shows you things around you (i.e. tourist spots, restaurants, shops, etc). I would enter in the hotel's name anywhere that we were and it would tell me where to go. A fantastic app for everything that we wanted to do or see in Florence! The front desk staff at the hotel was simply amazing. They were very helpful when checking-in, during our stay, and even helpful after we checked out. Each room key has a huge, weight key-chain and you must leave it at the front desk when you leave during the day. Very helpful as with your bag, camera, guidebook, water bottle, etc it was one last thing to carry or even to lose in Florence. We had the Superior Room with a Balcony. The balcony was really one but split into two with a Jasmine Vine plant. You could barely see the other side of the balcony. Our view was a small portion of the Duomo and Tower and a lovely portion of the hills of Florence. It was peaceful to sit out on the balcony after walking all day and watch the sunset. Our bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean. The bathtub does have that have the half glass sheet so be prepared to wet the floor. But we did have hot water each day. The maid service did a great job and their laundry service was fast and not too pricey as well. We took advantage of their breakfast which was out on the courtyard terrace. It basically consists of hard-boiled eggs, croissants, muffins, some fruit, yogurt, coffee and juice. Not too shabby when it is included with your rate. The A/C in our room worked perfectly as well. Do get a room in the main building (not in the more modern rooms across the courtyard) since you will be away from the street noise. The rooms across the courtyard seemed to be next to a bus stop. So even though we were across the way and on the fourth floor we could still hear the bus stop and go somewhat. It did not disrupt us as we were far enough away but I could imagine how it would for those rooms next to it. Other than that there was nothing wrong with the Hotel Orto de Medici during our stay. We would definitely stay here again if we even get the opportunity to return.

“Highly Recommend!!!” The staff was wonderful, the rooms were large, received a free upgrade, and the garden smells amazing when you come back after a long day in the city. I would definitely recommend it!!! The blackout shades and garden room deluxe were perfect! Plenty of space in the room, closet, and bathroom. Wonderful experience!!!
